Patrick has had a diverse set of experiences during his more than twenty years in public education. He has teaching experience in both the elementary panel and adult education and began his teaching career in England where he taught for two years. He has been an administrator for twelve years in a variety of school and district level settings. Patrick’s areas of interest and expertise include: technology enabled learning environments, innovation, staff development, student agency, community and relationship building, and staff and student well-being.

Patrick has just completed a three-year term as the Principal of Innovation with the Simcoe County District School Board where he was responsible for promoting and supporting innovative learning and teaching practices K-12 and connecting educators to support technology enabled learning environments. In this role. he supported a large and dynamic team of Innovation Resource Teachers in the identification of local and system problems, the creation of innovative solutions, and the scaling up of effective and impactful practices. Patrick was also the School Effectiveness Lead for SCDSB and reimagined the SEF district support model to a more inclusive and transparent school improvement planning process. Patrick is an experienced AQ instructor with the Ontario Principal’s Council for both the Principal’s Qualification Program and the Principal’s Development Course.
